Safety Boat RTYC 1 day Course
One-day Safety Boat Course for club members- you need to have passed your PB2 already and have been out on a rib 4-5 times since so have some post PB2 experince. It will involve being in some of the boats being rescued below so you will be in the water!!
The course will cover the following
Ashore
Types of dinghies sailed at the club and how they can be rescued, what issues are with kites etc, how to drop a kite in the water.
Afloat
Rescuing a single-hander Topper
Rescuing a doubled-handed Hartley.
Rescuing a Dart
How to tow all of the above
How to deal with entrapment
Basic mark-laying techniques
It should give members with a little experience post PB2 the skills they need to feel confident rescuing the main boats that are used at the club.
