Junior - Training
The RTYC junior/youth cadet section provide some 20 Wednesday evenings of tuition a year along with all the equipment included in the annual membership.
The club holds a week-long summer camp called Cadet Week every year and this is a great week with lots of learning - and most importantly fun.
Cadets will have the opportunity to take RYA Stages 1-4 along with Seamanship, Racing Skills etc and this allows them to progress from total beginner to experienced sailors.
Older cadets are encouraged to become Assistant Instructors and help run sessions to prepare them to become Dinghy Instructors once they become 16. This qualification can lead to some fantastic summer jobs.
Cadets can also take part in the Thursday and Saturday social sailing program along with club racing.

Learn to sail junior courses are also available via Ancrum at the Sea Cadet dock. The sheltered location means they can take junior sailors from the age of 8 years. Stages 1, 2 or 3 will be available over a series of Friday evenings. Ancrum - Junior RYA Courses
