Sports Committee

![]() | I have been involved with RTYC for just over 60 years. I am not the new Commodore but rather a recycled one having held the post for 3 years at the start of the millennium.
While sailing is my passion, I just love seeing activity on the water and will continue to do my best to encourage it within our great club whether its with sails, oars, paddles, or engines. Email: commodore@royaltay.org Link to newsletter interview | |
![]() | I sailed a Unicorn catamaran at the Tay when I was a youngster but then moved away from the area.
Rejoined when my daughters became cadets some 10 years and am keen on promoting social sailing and training for both sail and safety boats as well as racing in a ILCA and Laser 2000.
Had a late life crisis last year and bought a wing foiler which I've still to master and have also been rowing this winter

![]() | I joined the club on a learn to sail course when Tay Sail Training was starting out and have never looked back.
I have found my kind of people here at RTYC. The club has offered me both qualifications and experience-based learning.
I joined the workboat crew when I bought my keel boat and now lead the moorings team delivering racing marks, club and private moorings, the occasional race committee platform and pirate ship for cadets as needed.
I am keen to pass on the knowledge and experiences given to me by the various workboat crews over to any member who is interested. Email: moorings@royaltay.org |
