PB2 course - cadets
Power Boat Level 2 course - for junior members/cadets only.
This two-day course will give the cadets their RYA PB2 certificate at the end of the course, which will let the cadet start crewing ribs for club events. etc It is also an internationally recognized certificate and so will allow the holder, from the age of 16, to charter small power boats abroad.
It's also a required qualification for those cadets wishing to become RYA Dinghy Instructors once they become 16. Allows them to start to line up their ducks for a major qualification which can lead to some really nice summer jobs!!
It is a practical course delivered in the rib out on the water over the two days. Maximum of 3 students per rib/instructor. Can be taken from the age of 12, but would recommend it from 14. Until 16 need someone with PB2 aged 16 + in the rib.
The course will cost junior members £75 and you'll be billed a month before the course. If taking the course at a commercial centre it would cost £299 at Edinburgh Marine for example and so it's a significant benefit for junior RTYC members.
The cadets who did their PB2 course last year loved doing it!
