Intro to running Sailing Races
This course is for members who are interested in helping to run sailing races at the club. The course will involve a brief classroom session, followed by a practical exercise and then mentoring while graduates of the course begin support to races from the race box. The expectation is that, in due course, graduates will progress through acting as Assistant Race Officer (ARO) to overseeing races as the Race Officer (RO). No prior experience is required and the approach to learning will be based on the needs and preferences of individual volunteers.
Please book for the first classroom evening and then either Thursday 1st, 8th or 15th of May. Only 4 spaces per Thursday evening so first come first served. If you can't make the practical session on either Thursday but can do the classroom please do that and let Nigel know and we'll arrange another practical evening if possible.
