Port Seton Regatta

Broughty Ferry Boating had a great day at the Port Seton Regatta, competing over seven categories. The crews travelled together, impressively in just four vehicles, arriving in good time to offload the skiff, and set up for racing.
After the gazebo was wrestled up, banners set flying in the breeze, chairs unfolded, and cups of tea finished, the first crews took to the water.
The usual short sprints round the harbour, navigating two tight buoy turns, meant coxes and rowers had to dig in and go for it. The crews on land had a great view into the harbour, to see the skiffs line up ready for the start.
As the races got underway, there was a steady stream of supporters, working their way along to the harbour wall, to cheer on their crews, before heading back to compete themselves. Lots of encouragement was shouted at top volume!
The races were very competitive, with many being won by seconds. Our mixed decades crew was just 0.7 seconds away from second place.
It was a very enjoyable day, and everyone was happy to be part of it.
Well done all.
