2026 Sailing Season Squibs
February 2026 news update for Squibbers (including those who wish to try sailing a Squib, and those who would like to learn and/or get more information).
Our enthusiastic new Squib captain, Klaudia Fedorowicz, hosted a 2026 kick-off session which took place in Glenogil House on Thursday 5th February with around 24 members attending.
The purpose of the KO session was firstly to provide information about Squib sailing and this was done using a variety of photographs of squibs in action on the Tay and elsewhere. We also discussed plans and arrangements for the coming RTYC sailing season, which will begin in the spring. We now have a squib WhatsApp group and some notes of the 5th Feb meeting were circulated on that app.
One of our aims for the year is to provide opportunities for Squib sailing and this would include familiarisation/induction/training on the boat itself. RTYC has two Squibs and Taysail Training also owns one; in addition, a number of our club members have their own Squibs. We are seeking a couple of volunteers for the role of bosuns for the 2 RTYC squibs basically to help look after the boats.
If you would like more information about this or squibs in general, please contact Klaudia on WhatsApp.
