2026 Sailing Season Squibs
Published 10:40 on 21 Jan 2026
Calling all Squibbers, including those who wish to try sailing a Squib, and those who would like to learn and get more information.
Our enthusiastic new Squib captain, Klaudia, has organised a 2026 kick-off session which will take place in Glenogil House on Thursday 5th February at 7pm.
The Squib is a very stable 2-person dayboat with a heavy keel, well-suited to the River Tay estuary, and which provides excellent sailing with its two distinctive orange/red sails. RTYC has two Squibs and Taysail Training also owns one; in addition, a number of our club members have their own Squibs.
The purpose of the KO session is to provide information about Squib sailing and to discuss plans and arrangements for the coming RTYC sailing season which will begin in the spring. One of our aims for the year is to provide opportunities for Squib sailing, including introduction to the Squib and training on the boat.
All seasoned Squibbers and those keen to learn more are most welcome to join us on the 5th for what will be friendly and informative session. There will be a £2 charge to cover cost of tea/coffee and biscuits.
