Watersports Facilities
Here at RTYC we have fantastic facilities for offer our members and visitors. We have storage facilities available to rent and prices and applications can be made here.
At the Beach
To complement the Clubhouse social facilities RTYC has excellent sports facilities:
- Male/ female changing, toilets and showers at Clubhouse
- Camper Van facilities within Carpark
- Beach car park accessed from Ogilvie Road
- Beach Clubhouse with modern galley
- Male/ female beach changing facility
- Beach toilets
- Racebox for running competitions
- Secure Boat Parks for dinghies and yacht tenders
- 3 slipways for launching/ recovery at all states of the tide
- Bro'ty Boathouse ~ centre for training and rowing activities
- Ferry Boathouse ~ base for safety boats and safety boat section
- Various sheds for lockers and storing inflatable tenders
- The Harbour Shed ~ extensive covered boat storage at Broughty Harbour
The Club and its training organisation TST also own:
- An extensive fleet of sailing dinghies and three Squib keel boats
- 4 safety boats
- work boat for laying moorings and marks
- Tractor for use with safety boats and trailers
RTYC is responsible for managing West Ferry bay moorings and maintains two moorings for the use of visitors from April until September (contact Club first to ensure availability). The Club annually lays race marks within the estuary for use in competition.
Access to the Sports Facilities
- From the Club car park at the foot of Ogilvie Road via the open pedestrian crossing on the railway (great care must be taken as trains come both ways and travel very fast)
- Via the pedestrian walkway to the east of Grassy Beach accessed from Douglas Terrace
- There is no vehicle access to the Beach facilities
- Boat access is via the pedestrian walkway only. Boats must be manually transported or using the Club quad bike. Under no circumstances may vehicles be brought along the pedestrian walkway.
